Mount Kackar Expedition Overview
The Kackar rise in between the shores of the Black Sea to the north and the. Kackar area is a national park and has an extensive collection of native flora and fauna, including the local bears, mountain goats and many birds. Many bird watchers also frequent the area. The Kackar Kavron summit, at an altitude of 3937 meters, (12,933 feet), is the highest point in the range. Extensive glacier and water erosion have given these mountains their craggy, rugged look. The Kackar rise in between the shores of the Black Sea to the north and the River Coruh valley to the south. On the northern flank, a wide variety of wildflowers grows in the rainy climate. The local people who grow tea, citrus orchards, fruits and grape vines cultivate much of the area. Kackar area is a national park and has an extensive collection of native flora and fauna, including the local bears, mountain goats and many birds. Many bird watchers also frequent the area.
The Mount Kackar summit takes around 5-6 hrs and involves some walking on snow but little actual climbing. There are many stunning lakes in the area and you can go for a swim. Mount Kackar is a strenuous mountain and can be windy and cold. If you are fit, prepared and acclimatized, you will have a great chance of standing on the summit of the famous peak in Kackar Kavron.
Almost all of the expedition is by hike. If you like hike this expedition will be one point of your life, which you will never ever forget.
Our schedule will include sufficient time for acclimatization treks, and to experience local villages, culture and geography.

Mount Kackar Trek Plan
Mount Kackar: Day 1 Climb
Fly from Istanbul to Erzurum. Transfer to Yusufeli Barhal (Altıparmak) Village. Overnight at the pension in Barhal. Here you will have diner with your fellow trekkers and meet your guide
Mount Kackar: Day 4 Climb
Mount Kackar: Day 5 Climb
Mount Kackar: Day 7 Climb
Visit Barhal and Oshk Venk Churches and transfer to Erzurum Airport for departure.

Group Size:
Minimum 5 persons with a maximum of 16.
